First FOSS Bridge workshop, Hanoi, Vietnam, Nov. 12-16, 2007Objectives and results of the workshop
This first workshop had the aim to precise the areas of possible collaboration that have been identified during the online matchmaking process and to set up detailed collaboration plans. At the end of the workshop, a detailed list of groups of Vietnamese and European partners had been established. For each of those groups, the objective was to obtain at the end of the week a collaboration plan, with a detailed agenda, and mentioning precise objectives at every step of the collaboration plan. Results : The one-week event attacted over 40 IT companies from Vietnam and Germany, France, Spain, Belgium and Sweden, who all share an interest in Free and Open Source Software (FOSS). In over 60 matchmaking encounters, they successfully discussed cooperation plans for joint business after three months of online interaction and matchmaking through the web platform. A total of 42 agreements of cooperation were reached between Vietnamese and European business partners. More deals are expected to be finalized in the upcomings weeks.
